Morewood A, B, C, D Towers

I live in Morewood B tower. The first thing that comes to mind, when people ask me what Morewood is like, is that its a really great place to live in. Why? Well I like it because there is a good mix of people. There is a nice balance of freshmen and upperclassmen; atleast that was the case for my floor. Of course it is all up to you to mix with the people who live on your floor. If you don't put in any effor to get to know your floormates, then i doubt that you'll have a good time. I guess if you feel that you're unable to mix with upperclassmen, then i'd suggest living in the freshmen dorms such as: Morewood E tower and New House (These 2 dorms tend to be more "happening"; lots and lots of freshmen love). The main drawback of living in a freshman dorm is the lack of a personal bathroom for those of you who have been through army, i think you'll understand why - there are always new dangers in the toilet bowl :)

The good thing about Morewood is that the rooms are reasonably sized. I'd say that you will generally be satisfied with your room space. Of course if you are unlucky like me, you'll end up with a really odd shaped room - very long and narrow. It made my Morewood experience a little less than perfect. Of course if you are really really super super unlucky, then you'll end up in what is known as the Morewood closet. Just imagine a room the size of a single but with 2 people cramped into it(fear not there are just one or two rooms in Morewood like that so you'd have to been really unlucky). Personally, I still feel that Morewood is still alot better then some of the other dungeons. Oops, i meant to say dorms.

I know many of you probably know that the Resnik and West wing are both fully air-conditioned dorms. But be warned, they are also primarily upperclassmen dorms. What this means is that although you may live very comfortably, you'll also be more likely to have less friends. Ok i've gone off on a tangent... The temp control in Morewood is somewhat messed up. During the winter, sometimes its comfortable but sometimes it gets too warm inside and during the summer, which you will very likely not be here anyway but just for the record, it gets ***king hot. Ironically, i don't the heat but that's just me.

Facilities wise, Morewood does alright. It's got a computer cluster on the ground floor with printer. The Macs in the cluster are pretty slow so try your best to get hold of your own PC dont' waste your time with Macs. There is also a recreational room that comes equiped with pool table, air hockey table, juke box, table tennis tablem, couches and vending machines (i.e FOOD and NON-alcoholic drinks). There's also a place to get food; it's called the UNDERGROUND. Yes, the Underground really is underground. Food there is edible and expensive like every other place on campus the only good that comes from this is that you don't need the leave to building during the winter inorder to get some food and it's a place for you to convinently use your meal plan.

Well that's basically it from me. If you do live in Morewood next year, then you'll see me around. It's hard not to know who your Resident Assistants (RA) are.
