hmm... if u've heard some rumours abt cat man being dirty n old... with d lift being faulty quite often... they're all TRUE... hahaha... but fret not... there are plus points to cat man!! if not i wun be surviving here for so long liao... ;)

shall write d gd things abt cat man first... hehe...

• if u like to cook, want a kitchen of ur own... n wanna get out of d meal plan (though u could get out of it via ahem ways...) den cat man's a place for u! ;) basically, u have a nice kitchen of ur own... with fire stoves (not the electrical ones)... with an oven n a fridge (while others gotta get their own mini fridges) for FREE!!!
• fall ain't too hot.. winter not too cold... PLUS PLUS POINT!!! in fall... u'll see ur frens buying big fans (but for the use for a mth or so only) while u enjoy d breeze (Esp if u live on d higher floors... like d 7th floor ;))... d heater is super dooper good... u feel HOT in ur apartment... trust me... u might even wanna keep ur windows opened slightly to prevent it from getting to warm... allows ventilation too..
• nice BIG place... basically... if u've got lotsa things... like if u wanna get ur own TV etc.. n u want a HUGE SPACE... cat man's for u... if u want a bigger place... i suggest u to take d triple apartment... 2 rooms (pretty huge), with a kitchen, dining area n living room... if u're in search for space... this is d place for u... double apartment is smaller... with a room only... but u still get ur kitchen n living room. u have ur own toilets too... one toilet in each apartment of cos...
• it's near craig street.. where subways n some food places are... hungry n dun feel like cooking?? take a lil stroll then :)
• CHEAPER laundry than some on-campus housing... plus it's quite fast... compared to others also... n you do NOT need to collect quarters to do ur laundry here... u use a CARD!! haha.. yesh... even though cat man is some old building.. u're actually technologically more advanced den others in doing ur laundry cos u use a card!! that's a very big plus points... cos u'll hear pple having troubles with the quarters machine... while u... can use a card n top up with either coins or NOTES! heheh.. PLUS point!!
• peace n quiet... u have it here....

ok... there's always d downside... n i'm sure u've heard from many pple d negative points of cat man... sigh... here goes....

• it's OFF CAMPUS... so dat'll mean u'll take a longer time to walk to sch den others... if u're a slow walker... abt 15mins would do d trick (in fall).. BUT... winter ain't that fun... with the snow piling up (snow ain't that bad... but when it turns into ICE!!!!! ermm... buy a pair of skis or skate ur way to sch lar har...) it gets pretty slippery at times during winter... so u're gonna take longer thanusual to go to sch... would be a lil sad if u've got early classes...
• yesh... u've got ur own toilet... but dat also means that u've gotta CLEAN IT URSELF... yesh...
• LIFT: i hate to say this... but the lift gets a lil faulty at times... dun be surprised if u've gotta climb up d stairs (usually up is alright... it's when u're trying to get to d ground floor dat's maddening)... it's pretty slow and antique.. hehe... but kinda interesting too...
• fire drills.. haha.. yupz... fire drills... rather... nto fire drills... sometimes some residents just set d fire alarm off... n yesh... u've gotta get out of ur apartment.... there's once that d fire alarm went off like 3 times in a single day... but it's not THAT bad... such things dun happen too frequently... so fret not...
• doing laundry is quite troublesome... cos u've gotta WAIT for d lift to go to d basement n WAIT for d lift to go back to ur place...
• u dun get much dorm life like the others in morewood n new house... cos most of d pple here are either private residents (non-cmu students) or upperclassmen... meaning they're less prone to making new frens... unlike u who's new... wanna make lotsa frens...

hmmm... seems like that's abt it... nothing much to say... though i've written lots.. this is just my own view of cat man... basically i like it pretty much... minus d distance from sch... but i do noe of pple who are dis-satisfied with cat man... there are times when u'll complain n would wanna stay much closer to campus... but it's balanced out with the space n kitchen (if it matters to u at all)... yupz... wun say this is d best place for freshmen... cos u pple out there shld enjoy some dorm life n meet more freshies out there! :)
